Music Composers Unite!
Hello, Would you mind listening and sharing with me what I can improve on? I am yet a humble begginner and would like to know what I can work on.
Thank you very much!
Here is three attached compositions of mine...unfortunetely I cannot upload the scores because it took me forever to scan them several months ago and now they have been deleted off my computer >.< So I guess I'm asking to judge me purely on what you hear

Permalink Reply by Sahil Jindal on May 5, 2012 at 1:42pm I like what I hear so far. For the song Elvin Flutist it sounds a little empty without any bass voice. Maybe you can try adding some bass voice to the piece and have them sustain notes, while your alto or tenor sounding instruments can play the melody over it. And then after that, maybe add some new material with your high winds again. Just some ideas :)

I actually like the way Elvin Flutist comes in with only the flute, and other instruments come in later.
In As He Sits Under a Tree, a measure or so after the piano comes in, I don't know whether this is intended or not, but the piano is on a d minor chord while the plucked instrument has an F# (occurs at 24 sec. and then again at 29 sec.). In the tonal context you are in, it doesn't sound correct to me. Just sayin' :)
Good job!
