Not sure if this is a good place to put this, but it's as good as any.
A side effect of a lifetime of amateur composing has left me, amongst other things, keenly fond of a variety of composers who don't get much press in the English speaking world. My son is pursuing a music performance degree and plays in the orchestra at his university. He's been wanting to suggest a few compositions to the conductor, but has no idea how to get hold of the sheet music for them.
His tastes and mine are similar, so he's picked compositions from a couple of my favorite composers:
Andrei Eshpai, Songs of the Mountain and Meadow Mari, Double Bass Concerto, Flute Concerto.
Yasushi Akutagawa, Trinita Sinfonica.
Not coincidentally, the CDs for these seem to be permanently added to his collection...
So how does one go about locating the publisher or library in Russia or Japan or wherever else in possession of the scores for such composers? Anyone know?
