Music Composers Unite!

Ok....
I am very close to finishing the piece 'no devil lived on' (see my profile page for more info) and there is a performance of it scheduled for April 20th on a 'New Music' recital. The problem is that it's too difficult to pull off by then, especially movements 2 and 4. SO.. I decided to only perform movements 1, 3 and 5 and reorchestrate 2 and 4 into 'Electronic Interludes' Compositionally, they are the same but i have used synth instruments and added noise and ambiance to them.

I am not quite happy with them yet... but they are getting close. I present them here so that you guys can tear them apart and tell me how much you don't like them :)

Really though.. i am not too good at this electronic thing, so any suggestions or comments are more than welcome...

So here we go:

I should also note that they will probably overlap with the instrumental movements some in performance (especially the end of interlude 2)

Hi Cody
Maybe think about what you are trying to achieve and where do you want the trax to go to?
Electronic music can be equally amazing or dreadful, depends on your ear and perspective.
You would really be encouraged to listen to some arpeggiator tracks, try going to e.g. propellerheads website. REASON is an awesome piece of software and listening may help you.
I felt the music you have written could do with a lift or two, also some rhythmnic beats too..
It sounds rather too experimental for my tastes just as it is.
cheers

I should say that 'too experimental' is what i am going for here...

Hi Cody,
You apply very interesting sounds. Let me offer some criticism. When we perceive an interesting thing, which attracts our mind (picture, music, building, tree etc), we have an ambient view, which entails several mental images that somewhere contrast and somewhere match to each other. A music piece should contain such views and not force the listener waiting until the contrasts appear, unless it is very short and energetic. So, my recommendation is a more brave combination of very contrasting fragments and rhythms you have, but try doing this in an organized fashion, developing some form, which makes these combinations meaningful.
