Music Composers Unite!
I have written a fugue based on a Korean traditional theme. The subject of the fugue was taken from a Korean folk song called "Doraji Taryeong". I have used the pentatonic scale, and was experimenting with a non-Western style key modulation.

Permalink Reply by Minseo Park on February 5, 2011 at 4:14pm What a nice combination of sounds. The composition if terrific. I would recommend that you have a little more contrast in "loudness" if you will. For example, the first time a motif is presented, I would of course make it the aural focus. After the statement is made, the instrument should then move back and let the next idea be presented. After all ideas are presented, I would let the individual motifs then rise and fall support each other which would create nice compositional "waves" in the listeners mind. Again, I really enjoyed listening to your work!!!!
