Music Composers Unite!

French classical composers were enchanted with ragtime as a serious music long before Americans considered it to be a serious music. Debussy, for example, wrote a piece based on it. But the best one, IMO, was Darius Milhaud, who wrote 3 pieces based on it. They are wonderful. If you’ve never heard of Darius, allow me to introduce you. About 7 minutes total for all 3 pieces

A different performance--but includes scrolling score--quite an interesting piece!

Thanks Bob

A lovely recording Bob, thanks!

My pleasure Gav:)  To me the first movement is especially interesting with its unexpected Stravinsky like gestures...

Thanks Bob
