Music Composers Unite!

Competition No. 1 - The Judging Stage *Cast Your Votes Here!*

Hello, composers!

July 1 has come and we've had a pretty healthy turnout for the Judging Stage of the competition. All of our entries will be listed anonymously below. All you have to do is post at least one reply to this thread stating exactly which music piece you nominate for the People's Choice award.

Important note: Everyone has one vote. Everyone has exactly two weeks to vote. Starting July 15, this thread will be closed and the People's Choice award winner will be decided.

Contestants, obviously, you, like myself, believe that the piece you wrote should win. If you can, try waiting until the towards the deadline to cast your vote.

Judges, you all have until July 15 to judge each of these pieces. Please do not publish your results early, as they may sway the opinions of our voters. Also, don't forget to vote as well, as your vote will be counted. Please send your results to n_fraioli39@yahoo.com.

Each submission will be listed below as a reply to this thread. You do not have to reply to the corresponding thread response in order to vote for it.

Judging Guidelines *Special thanks to Tyler Hughes for drawing them up*

You can award up to 10 points in the following categories:

Will be added again to these additional categories:

  • Clarity of score
  • Lack of notational errors

Each category gets 10 points. Maximum number of points given by one judge is 40; minimum is a 0. All the points will be added together and the person with the most points wins.

In the result of a tie, the pieces in question will be judged again and will be discussed among the judges.

For Peoples Choice

Everyone in the thread will post which piece they enjoyed the most with a simple “entry 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7.” At the end of the judging period the votes will be added up and a winner will be had. In the event of a tie the pieces in question will be voted on again. The competition contestants can vote for their own pieces or another piece if they so choose. NO additional comments can be posted in this thread about the piece, nor can the contestants campaign for their pieces.

Keep in mind that this thread is for voting only. Comments of any other kind are discouraged and could influence voters.

This is where the competition starts to heat up. I hope you all share my enthusiasm for this as well. Thank you, all of our contestants, who have all taken time out of their busy (or less than busy : P) schedules to participate with their wonderful music!

There are exactly 7 entries. Good luck, contestants! This is your moment! :D

Is that all I have to do?

One vote per member, please. Sorry, I didn't really make that clear.

Two of the pdfs have names on them!!

We understand that, Just try to ignore that as best as you can and vote based on the compositions themselves.
