Can Anybody Proof Read My Orchestral Score ?

I am posting a score here if people want to help proof read it for mistakes, etc.

Please comment on anything you like, but not the recordng (which is only a basic sibelius one right now).

I want to know if I've written anything that is impossible to play, etc. Or you can suggest improvements if you like.

It's scored in C and not transposed and it looks cluttered at times as I've not yet hidden the unused lines of music in each system - but I will sort that out later.

I'm afraid I can't actually do that. It's a fault of the PDF writer.

Based upon some suggestions in the Sibelius users' website, my score has now been a little improved, so please check out this version from now on.

This post is going to focus with the flute part.
I played through it and I found some issues

for the most part it is good, but most of it is too low. sections like measure 162 will not be heard over the orchestra in any way. Though it is playable the flute can not play loud in the low register. I couldnt even hear the flute over the speakers. Your best bet it to take it up the octave in the louder sections and keep it above the staff or around the top of the staff (no one the staff G's or bottom space D's). You did that in a few sections which were really nice. Adding a rest or a breath mark might help to, I had to improve a few breathing points and you may or may not like where real performers breath.

The pdf still looks odd to me, but I was able to read the Scorch on the Sibelius site.
Personally, I mark my violas 'Va.' (I noticed you had abbreviations for everything but them after page 1.)

The pizz on 1st Vn at m. 20 is going to be very dark sounding. You probably intend this, since it goes nicely with the clarinet solo ; I'm just mentioning it in case you don't, and also to lead into my next comment, which is you may want to mark it 'sul G' (play on G string only) to maintain the effect as they get up above D.

1st Vn at m 39. Mark it divisi (div.) unless you mean double stops, since these are doable both ways.

Vc and Cb starting at m 59. I'm worried about these sounding muddy together. You have the sustained bass with the cello arpeggio starting and ending at the same pitch. At 61 (the bass is at F natural right? suggest putting the accidental in. ) they only separate by a minor second, and back to same pitch at 63. You could drop these down an octave and put a parenthesis around the Eb at 63, so if your bass has a C extension they can play it for you. Otherwise, the piano still has the pitch covered. The G at 65 is fine, since you're finally separating an octave there.

That's an interesting chord at m. 95. Do you really mean the C in the viola there?

Slip in a 'Bn' for Bassoon in your abbreviated stave titles. I forgot what had been scored there and had to go clear back to the beginning to remind myself, once he finally got some notes.

At the Allegro section starting 142, the 2nd Vn will be very gutteral sound, with that marcato low on the G string. The relatively low marcato in the cello will reinforce it, too. Hope you want that. Also, the rhythm in the bassoon is going to probably be lost in the crowd here. I suggest you double it in the bass. They are already playing the same note an octave down anyway. Give them the same rhythm.

Where Tyler mentioned at 162, I think he has a point. You have clarinets playing unison there; you might consider moving both flutes to the flute 1 part and giving the flute 2 to one clarinet.
