Composers' Forum

Music Composers Unite!

I'm surprised I haven't seen a thread on this yet! (unless I missed it...)

http://www.hanszimmerwantsyou.com/

Anybody on these forums submit anything yet for this composing opportunity? You get the chance to win a job interview with Bleeding Fingers productions in LA to work as a film composer! Great opportunity even though you don't end up getting the job.

The contest stipulates that you MUST use at least one of the stems created by the piece and that it has to be from 60-120 seconds in length.  I would love to hear all of your entries!

I chose to change the theme and melody of the original and go with a gradual epic finish: https://soundcloud.com/renan-javier/destiny-awaits-bleeding

Anyways.  Looking forward to hearing your entries people!!!

very nice work Nir! I love how you stay faithful to the original theme but add a graceful theme on top of the original melody.  Beautiful stuff and well done with the mix.  Glad I got to listen to this one

Oh come on, why is the percussion stem clipped? I thought they're better than this ;/

Nevertheless I'm going to try and give it a shot, shame I only learned about the thing today, though - no time to think, got to start working :)

Renan yours is so beast, Lol. Maybe youll work for hans zimmer soon!! And yea greg that percussion stem is fucked up LOL c'mon hans get your shit together

Composing like Hans Zimmer is a challenge? Let me get some string ostinato going, add some electronic elements, low brass playing fartissimo, some new "epic" sounding drum samples with "the man's" name on it, and if I need a melody I can just steal, um, my bad, I meant pay homage to Wagner, Holst, Orff, or other movie sound engineers such as Jack Nitzsche, Alex North, John Williams, or John Powell. And if that doesn't work I will write a theme based on one to two notes and go on tour telling everyone how groundbreaking and transcendent the work is.

Hans isnt the greatest composer, but he's a great producer

My remarks were not towards you specifically, and concerning who I am? That is the traditional comeback, isn't it? I am already living my dreams "through hard work and walking the walk" in the concert world.

I know who he is and what he's done, who are you?

It's not that I think he is a God or anything like that, nor do I wish to be him or work for him but, he is a success through hard work, walking the walk.
