Music Composers Unite!

Hello there Composers! So I wrote some music and for this scene of Saving Private Ryan.  Just to get some practice in I guess.  Would you be so kind as to listen and offer any feedback?  I am all for constructive criticism or even encouragement.  The Link is Below.  Thanks Guys!

It didn't worked..... well for me... :)  it's too rhythmic.. especially when synth melody came in.. It feels like I'm dancing...
I also didn't feel some epic army war.. well yeah there's snare but it didn't do anything...   at first I thought that snare was a gun shot lol.. but anyways... to sum it up.. it didn't support the visual....

I agree with Kane. I didn't feel it fit the scene. At the same time though, the music itself was really well done. I went ahead and watched some others that you have posted on youtube. Same observation.. the music, though really well written, didn't quite match the scene. No Country for old men for instance... the music was sort of sad or remorseful sounding... but in that scene, what was supposed to be the most powerful aspect of it, is that Anton is detached and is completely without feelings.  The music seems to try to say the character is feeling remorseful or that what is happening is a sad thing.  I think if you would have just stuck with only the pulsing strings that start when Anton is walking up to the door, that would have been enough.. speed them up a bit closer to human heart beat. I've noticed that is a trick being used in scenes with a bit of anxiety. Anyway.. I have never actually composed to film so I might not be the best person to give advice!!

Really dug the music though.

Thanks so much guys for the feeback! I totally get what you are all saying.  You see what I did was add music that I had already written over these clips.  I actually didn't write these pieces for the particular film scenes.  I chose music of mine that I thought would fit well.  I guess this is a huge lesson learned.  That I have to really stay true to the emotion of the film/story and not try to throw in my own emotion.  Thanks Alain these are great things to consider.  And Jeremiah you're so right about the feeling of no remorse.  My music totally did not fit the killer's mood.  You guys are a big help!
