Composers' Forum

Music Composers Unite!

Any of you guys going to the BritDoc festival at Oxford next week? 23rd - 25th July.
Great opportunity to meet other composers, filmmakers, producers, etc.
"...A great soundtrack is at the very heart of every great film and yet in documentary it is often the line that gets sliced off the end of the budget. Forget commercial recordings, don’t even think about a composer, there is no cash left.

At BRITDOC 08 we are celebrating the craft of great soundtrack through inspirational screenings, in debates, in live performance. Rousing a pool of the finest filmmakers alongside a group of specially invited composers and musicians.

We want to connect musicians and composers to filmmakers, to initiate new artistic collaborations. To give each other the confidence, the language to communicate effectively.

Highlights over the three days will include the return of the ‘Would like to meet..’ speed dating session for filmmakers & composers. There’ll be live performance accompanying films, live performers from films, not to mention a host of leading editors, directors and composers ready to share their secrets. Documentary will never sound the same again. ..."

Looking forward to meeting Michael Nyman.
See you guys there.
David.
