The Society of Composers & Lyricists (SCL), the Recording Musicians Association (RMA) and the American Federation of Musicians (AFM) are proud to present a:
This first-of-its-kind conference on the West Coast is aimed at bringing an understanding of the options and opportunities available to record under the Union umbrella, to elucidate the process from inception to preparation, recording, residuals and backend obligations. We will examine common challenges and offer valuable tips, all from the perspective of the composer. This will interest composers of all levels, from emerging talents to experienced practitioners, who want to learn or update themselves on the state of union recording in their field of work. The conference will take place in two parts. First there will a General Session which will look at important and overarching issues between the various media. Then we will divide into specialized Breakout Sessions, covering Film, TV, and Video Game music, which will repeat twice, giving attendees the opportunity to attend two separate Breakout Sessions during the course of the event.
• Learn first-hand how to hire with union musicians and work with AFM contracts in Film, TV, and Video Game projects.
• Learn how to get great musicians while still maximizing your budget and your earnings.
