Event Description

Hi CF,

So far we've had two extremely successful Composers' Forum get-togethers (or Composiums are they becoming known).

We're planning a 3rd for the evening of Saturday 16th October. This is a great weekend to be a composer in London because David Arnold's Concert for Care has events on the Sunday and Monday

The basic agenda is that we get together for drinks in the South Bank Centre and then around 9pm we wander over to a restaurant for the rest of the night.

We had around 14-15 people last time with people coming from all over Europe.

If you're a member of this forum you are very welcome to come along!

Hope to see you there!

James

We should be at the South Bank Centre until around 8.30 - 9pm. Can't wait to see you.

Hi guys, I am supernew to the forum here, and I definitely will come on the 16th for the gathering!

Where exactly are we gonna meet? Inside the Southbank centre? Outside?

Can't wait to meet you

Alex

Hi Thomas, I fly with Ryanair (*passengers, please exit and pull the plane yourself*) with a friend. Actually, we are there for Concert for Care and arrive thursday morning already. Hopefully the hotel (Grapevine in Victoria) will turn out better than its reviews^^

Hey Tobias, don't be too scared for the hotels, keep in mind that people that are positive about a hotel most of the time won't leave a message about how they liked the place.
The most irritating thing for me was finding something for a nice price.
I ended up booking a night for about 35 GBP breakfast included, but a shared room for 4 people, but I don't really worry about that.
Did you end up going by train or have you booked flights?
I'm going by train.

Germany would be great, not just because I live there^^
Thanks to Ryanair, flights are cheap, but even better: Hotels are good.
I have read that the hotel I will be staying in in London has serious problems with bedbugs and similar things. I am really nervous because of this :(

Sorry Simon, I don't mean to sound negative. I do appreciate the suggestion. I'll certainly do what I can to get a mainland Europe meetup. Perhaps Germany.

Sorry James, it was just a suggestion.

Ok ... so honestly. How many people on CF are based within 100 miles of Roermond?

It's hard enough getting people who live in London to go out in London when they're busy with schedules and other real life issues.

Having said that, if someone wants to arrange one of these (booking restaurants, etc) then I certainly won't stop them and I'll try and come along if possible.
